About PKF New Zealand

PKF New Zealand is a national network of independently owned and operated accounting and advisory firms that form part of the global PKF International network. The business provides a full range of professional services, including audit and assurance, business advisory, tax, corporate finance, and specialist consulting solutions. With offices located across major cities and regional centres, PKF New Zealand serves small to medium enterprises, large corporations, government bodies, and not-for-profit organisations.

Purpose of the Role

The Marketing Manager is responsible for leading and delivering PKF New Zealand’s national marketing strategy, strengthening brand visibility, consistency and impact across the network. This is a hands-on leadership role combining strategy, execution and coordination. The role ensures national marketing activity is planned, measurable and aligned to PKF NZ’s strategic priorities, while clearly distinguishing between national initiatives and local firm support (user‑pays where applicable).

The expected benefits of this role include increased visibility for boutique firms, stronger alignment across the national network and greater participation in marketing activities by smaller firms. This ensures a more unified brand presence and helps leverage national campaigns to amplify local firm reputations, improving PKF’s competitive positioning in the market.

Key Responsibilities

1. National Marketing Strategy & Brand Leadership

  • Own and deliver the PKF New Zealand marketing strategy aligned to Board‑approved priorities.
  • Strengthen national brand positioning with consistent messaging, tone and visual identity.
  • Lead national brand campaigns, thought leadership and partnership initiatives.
  • Ensure marketing activity clearly articulates the PKF value proposition to clients, staff and prospective recruits.

2. Campaign Planning, Delivery & Measurement

  • Develop and manage an annual national marketing plan and campaign calendar.
  • Oversee end‑to‑end delivery of national campaigns from concept through execution and evaluation.
  • Establish clear performance measures and reporting for brand, engagement and campaign effectiveness.
  • Provide regular marketing reports to the Executive Officer and Board.
  • Oversee event frameworks, webinars, sponsorships and speaking opportunities.

3. Digital, Content & Website Oversight

  • Oversee PKF New Zealand’s digital presence including national websites and platforms.
  • Lead ongoing website unification and content standards across member firms.
  • Lead content creation across web, email, social and campaign channels.
  • Identify opportunities to repurpose content nationally and across firms and support internal communications to keep network firms aligned.

4. Leadership & Resource Management

  • Lead and support Marketing Coordinator(s), ensuring clear priorities and workload management.
  • Coordinate external agencies and contractors as required.
  • Act as the central point of coordination between national marketing and firm‑level needs.
  • Clearly define national activity versus user‑pays local support.

5. Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration

  • Work closely with the Executive Officer, Board and firm representatives nationwide.
  • Support national partnerships and co‑branded initiatives.
  • Provide guidance to firms to ensure brand‑compliant local execution without becoming a delivery bottleneck.

Skills and Experience

  • Proven experience in a senior marketing role, ideally within professional services or a multi‑office environment.
  • Confident user of Microsoft O365 apps, BOMA and Canva. Knowledge of InDesign/Photoshop preferred.
  • Experience in SEO analytics and management
  • Strong capability across brand strategy, campaign management and digital marketing.
  • Good writing skills with the ability to take a client centric view to create and edit targeted and impactful content that drives enquiry.
  • Experience leading or coordinating marketing resources (internal and/or external).
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills at senior level.
  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands‑on delivery.

Personal Attributes

  • Proactive, organised and comfortable working autonomously.
  • Collaborative and pragmatic, with an understanding of varied firm needs.
  • Comfortable operating across strategy, execution and coordination.
  • Calm under pressure and able to manage competing priorities.
  • A positive and constructive team player with strong interpersonal skills to build robust working relationships with all stakeholders.

Working Arrangements

  • Dunedin‑based with hybrid working available (office and remote).
  • 30 hours per week, with flexibility as the role matures.
  • Occasional New Zealand travel for meetings and events.
