Held annually, the AsPac conference brings together professionals to share updates on current trends, best practices, and pressing issues in the accounting and advisory world. This year’s agenda included sessions  on enhancing client experience  sustainability reporting, AI and automation, cybersecurity, and the latest in PKF Digital offerings.

Howard joined around 70 delegates from across Asia Pacific, including New Zealand, Australia, Fiji, Singapore, Thailand, China, India, Malaysia, as well as representatives from the US, UK, and Europe. The event provided valuable opportunities to build global relationships, especially helpful for clients working or investing across multiple jurisdictions.

Professionally, Howard found the tech updates and client experience sessions especially relevant, noting that many of the challenges discussed, like sustainability and digital transformation, mirror those faced by clients in New Zealand. He highlighted the strength of the PKF network and the in-house expertise available to support clients in diverse and meaningful ways.

Reflecting on the experience, Howard shared:

“It makes me proud to be part of PKF. We have incredibly smart and experienced people in our network, and beyond the professional value, they’re genuinely great people to spend time with.”

As for the host country, Taiwan left a strong impression. Taipei’s vibrant energy, respectful locals, and culinary reputation made the visit memorable.

Howard sampled the famous local bubble tea, plenty of authentic food  and discovered a standout iced coffee with vanilla ice cream near his hotel. Despite hot and humid weather and the looming threat of typhoons, the city’s clean, safe environment and efficient transport system made exploring a breeze.
