Forest & Bird’s annual Bird of the Year campaign is taking on special significance in 2023 as it becomes Bird of the Century in honor of Forest & Bird’s centenary. As the national icon and taonga species, Kiwi must win this prestigious title. In 2021, a bat won Bird of the Year, and we believe the Kiwi deserves the recognition this year.
