Sustainability Within the Tourism Industry

In 2018 the introduction of the International Visitor Conservation and Tourism Levy was announced with legislation to give effect to this expected to be passed mid-2019. It is not yet clear when it will take effect. This will mean that international visitors will be charged an additional $35 through their visa fees and it is expected to bring in an estimated $80 million per year to be applied to infrastructure and conservation projects.

PKF and Robertson Fulton join to create larger mid-market accounting firm

Waikato chartered accounting and business advisory firms PKF Hamilton and Robertson Fulton have merged, creating a larger mid-market presence in the region offering full accounting, audit, tax and advisory services. The merger was effective from January 1 with all staff now operating out of PKF’s Waikato central offices in Victoria Street, Hamilton. With five partners and 46 staff, the new PKF Hamilton now delivers an expanded service offering, including audit, transaction advisory, management consulting along with enhancing the already strong capabilities both firms have in rural and not-for-profit sectors.
